Add it to the schedule!
Everyone is busy. One of the worst excuses I hear from folks is, “I don’t have time to work out.”
Now, I understand a busy schedule. I have one, every day. But, I seem to get in everything that I have on my schedule.
For example, we schedule all the training clients, classes and meetings on Google calendar. I usually check the next day’s schedule out the night before.
One of the important things we also add to the calendar is workout time. It’s really easy running from clients to classes and back again all day and not make time for a workout.
This is solved by scheduling time daily for our own training.
Lately, we’ve been getting a little over board with scheduling workout times. One of the fun things we’ve added is hourly reminders on our phones to tell us an exercise to perform.
This is how it goes, on the :05 of every hour beginning at 0900 and ending at 1900, we do 25 pushups. On the :10 of each hour we drink 10oz. of water and on the :30 of each hour we do 25 crunches.
This isn’t our entire workout, but this adds a fun and dynamic change to every day working. Plus, if we can’t get a workout in, we’ve completed exercises every hour.
You don’t have to do something every hour or even the same exercises, but it’s on a schedule and usually the things we add to our schedules, we get done.
The app I use for iphone is Alarmed. You can set “day minders” that can go off multiple times a day. Here’s a picture of it.
Try it!
